We operate this website to provide information about the Krieg Lab, our research, publications, team, news, and opportunities. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.

This website does not provide user accounts, comment functions, newsletters, or contact forms. If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide in order to respond to your message.

3. Hosting and Server Logs

This website is hosted using Cloudflare Pages. When you visit the website, technical information may be processed automatically in order to deliver the website securely and reliably. This may include your IP address, date and time of access, requested pages or files, browser type, operating system, traffic routing data, and technical error information.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of this website.

Cloudflare may process data in countries outside the European Union. Where required, Cloudflare relies on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or standard contractual clauses.

4. Cookies and Analytics

At present, this website does not intentionally set cookies and does not use tracking, analytics, or marketing tools.

If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this privacy policy before doing so. If legally required, we will ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies or using comparable tracking technologies.

5. Embedded YouTube Video

The home page contains an embedded YouTube player supplied by Google Ireland Limited. The player is loaded automatically when the home page is opened. It uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode through the youtube-nocookie.com domain, but this mode does not prevent all data transmission. When the player loads, technical data such as your IP address, browser information, the referring page, and the date and time of access may be transmitted to YouTube/Google. If you play the video or open it on YouTube, Google may process additional data and associate it with your Google account if you are signed in.

The legal basis for embedding the video is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is presenting research and outreach content in an accessible multimedia format. Google may process data outside the European Union under its own privacy policy and applicable transfer safeguards.

This website contains links to external websites and social media profiles, including Google Scholar, LinkedIn, Bluesky, X/Twitter, Dynamic Matrices, journal publishers, and institutional pages. These links open in a new browser tab or window. We do not receive personal data from these services simply because the links are displayed on our website.

If you follow an external link, the respective provider may process personal data under its own privacy policy. Please review the privacy information of the external provider before using those services.

7. Email Contact

If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to respond to your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or, where the communication relates to a contract or pre-contractual matter, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

We delete such correspondence when it is no longer required, unless legal retention obligations apply.

You have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing, subject to the conditions set out in the GDPR.
